Key points04
- WiseTech integrated Dray Dog with CargoWise Landside TMS platforms Trinium, Profit Tools and Compcare
- Dray Dog is a CargoSprint company
- Confirmed appointment details, including reference numbers, now flow directly into the dispatcher's TMS
- The integration targets US drayage operators automating port bookings
WiseTech Global has wired Dray Dog's marine terminal appointment software directly into its CargoWise Landside transport management systems, letting US drayage operators automate port bookings instead of typing them by hand.
The link-up connects Dray Dog — a CargoSprint company — with three CargoWise platforms: Trinium, Profit Tools and Compcare. Dispatchers and customer service reps now receive confirmed appointment details, including reference numbers, inside their own TMS. No tab-switching. No re-keying.
What does this change for drayage operators?
In practical terms, it removes a small but persistent friction point in container logistics. Port and terminal appointments have typically lived in a separate system from the dispatch desk, which means someone copies confirmation numbers, windows and reference IDs across screens. That manual entry costs minutes per move, and minutes stack up across a fleet running dozens of port turns a day.
With the integration, the confirmation flows back into the TMS automatically. The dispatcher sees the appointment where the rest of the job already sits — the order, the driver, the container, the terminal window. One record. One version of the truth.
The automation also cuts the error surface. Every manual transcription is a chance to swap a digit in a reference number, and a wrong reference at the gate means a missed slot, a rescheduling call and, at congested terminals, a roll into the next window. Fewer touches, fewer of those failures.
Why the TMS connection matters commercially
For the drayage operators running Trinium, Profit Tools or Compcare, the commercial logic is straightforward. Appointment handling is labour that produces no revenue. Automating it frees customer service staff for work that does — exception handling, customer updates, load planning. On thin drayage margins, that reallocation is the whole argument.
For WiseTech, the move extends CargoWise's reach deeper into the landside leg. Integrating with a specialist terminal appointment provider rather than building one in-house signals where the company sees value: connecting the ecosystem, not duplicating it. CargoSprint, as Dray Dog's parent, gains distribution across a large installed base of US drayage TMS users — a channel that would take years to build door by door.
Forwarders and beneficial cargo owners shouldn't expect a rate impact from this specific tool. But faster, more reliable appointment confirmation tightens the port turn cycle, and tighter turns mean more capacity per tractor per week. In a drayage market where equipment and driver hours are the binding constraints, anything that raises turns per day is worth noting.
What comes next
The integration is live across the three named CargoWise systems for US drayage operators. The direction of travel is clear: WiseTech keeps knitting third-party landside services into CargoWise, and each connection it adds raises the switching cost of leaving the platform — and the operational cost of staying manual for everyone else.
