Key points03
- Uber Freight doubled new 4PL deals in Europe during 2025
- New control tower and operations hub opens in Krakow, Poland, in 2027
- OXEA contract covering road, intermodal rail and short-sea is Uber Freight's first 4PL deal spanning North America and Europe; Mike Doucleff becomes head of Europe from 28 September
Uber Freight doubled the number of new 4PL contracts it secured in Europe during 2025 and will open a new control tower and operations hub in Krakow, Poland, in 2027, extending its European footprint beyond its existing operations in the Netherlands.
The company is also committing dedicated product and engineering resources to Europe, including development of its transportation management system (TMS), alongside expanded customer-facing operations. The push builds on momentum with North American customers, many of which also run European networks and want to consolidate the number of logistics partners handling their global operations.
Chemicals have emerged as an early growth vertical. Chemical manufacturer OXEA has selected Uber Freight to manage transportation across the USA, Canada, Mexico and Europe. The contract spans road freight, intermodal rail and short-sea shipping and marks Uber Freight's first 4PL engagement designed from the outset to cover both North America and Europe — a template the company will likely replicate as it courts multinationals seeking single-partner coverage.
For shippers, the pitch is consolidation. For forwarders and incumbent European 4PL providers, it signals a well-capitalised competitor targeting precisely the accounts that prize integrated, multi-region management over fragmented regional arrangements.
Rebecca Tinucci, CEO of Uber Freight, said: "Logistics is global by nature, but too often it's managed through disconnected partners and regional silos.
"The more of that complexity we can bring together, the simpler and more efficient it becomes for customers to run their global supply chains."
Leadership change accompanies the expansion. Uber Freight has appointed Mike Doucleff as head of Europe, effective 28 September, giving the region a dedicated senior executive as the Krakow build-out and TMS investment gather pace.
The 2027 opening of the Krakow hub will be the next concrete milestone to watch, with the pace of new 4PL signings across chemicals and other verticals indicating whether Uber Freight's transatlantic model can convert North American relationships into durable European market share.
