Key points05
- ClassNK granted Innovation Endorsement (Products & Solutions) to Tekomar XPERT Engine and Emissions Desk
- The two solutions are deployed collectively on around 3,000 vessels
- Emissions Desk reporting can transfer data directly to the ClassNK MRV Portal
- Certification followed examination of data acquisition, handling, analytics and security documentation
- LOREKA360° also includes OptiNav AI and OptiHull, sold as modules or a full suite
ClassNK has granted its Innovation Endorsement for Products & Solutions to Accelleron's Tekomar XPERT Engine and Emissions Desk — two modules of the turbocharger specialist's LOREKA360° digital suite that are already deployed on roughly 3,000 vessels worldwide.
The certification from the Japanese classification society follows an examination of the two products' functions covering data acquisition, data handling and analytics, plus the relevant security documentation. For shipowners and operators, it delivers independent, third-party confirmation that the documented functionality and data processes behind both tools work as described — a point that matters as fleets tighten compliance workflows around IMO and EU emissions rules.
What do the certified tools actually do?
Tekomar XPERT Engine assesses engine performance and delivers advisory output instantly. The software works with any make and size of engine, giving operators visibility into engine operation, optimization recommendations and benchmarking capability across vessels and fleets. That engine-agnostic reach explains the scale of the installed base and positions the tool for mixed fleets rather than single-engine-type operators.
Emissions Desk sits downstream. It converts vessel data into compliance reporting and insights intended to help cut emissions further, drawing on Tekomar XPERT Engine data plus analysis by a team of veteran mariners. The module delivers both emissions advisory and compliance reporting compatible with multiple regulatory requirements, including IMO and EU frameworks. Critically for users in the Japanese market, the emissions reporting software underpinning Emissions Desk can transfer data directly to the ClassNK MRV Portal — reducing friction in a reporting chain that now spans EU MRV, IMO DCS and related regimes.
The certification explicitly recognizes the two products' intended application in energy-efficiency-related ship operations.
Why third-party certification matters commercially
For Accelleron, the commercial logic is straightforward: an independent seal from ClassNK, a leading classification society, de-risks the purchasing decision for owners weighing digital investments against uncertain returns.
Shailesh Shirsekar, Accelleron's Head of Global Operations and Sales Digital Solutions, said: "This certification provides valuable independent recognition of the data processing and analytical functions of Tekomar XPERT Engine and Emissions Desk. These functions are designed to support operational decisions related to fuel consumption and emissions across a wide range of vessels."
He added: "ClassNK is a leading global authority in maritime innovation, and its independent confirmation will support the uptake of these solutions and the wider LOREKA360° suite among owners and operators in Japan and worldwide."
That last point signals where the vendor expects traction. Japan's owners and operators, facing the same decarbonization pressures as their European peers, increasingly demand verified digital tools rather than vendor claims — and a ClassNK endorsement carries particular weight in that market.
Where LOREKA360° fits in the decarbonization stack
The two certified modules form part of a broader suite. LOREKA360° also includes:
- OptiNav AI — a voyage optimization solution using a human-in-the-loop approach from shore
- OptiHull — a hull and propeller performance solution
Accelleron sells the modules individually or as a complete suite, pitching LOREKA360° as an integrated platform for fleetwide optimization and decarbonization rather than a collection of point tools.
For ship operators, the practical takeaway is a validated path from engine-level diagnostics to regulator-ready emissions reporting within one certified ecosystem — with direct data transfer into ClassNK's MRV Portal trimming administrative overhead.
As emissions regulation tightens on both IMO and EU tracks, expect class-society certification of digital reporting and efficiency tools to become a competitive baseline rather than a differentiator, with vendors racing to bundle verified data pipelines into their decarbonization offerings.
