CEVA Logistics has secured a contract extension with Orange Polska that keeps it as the telecom operator's lead logistics provider through July 2031, cementing a relationship that dates back to 2008.
The agreement covers Orange Polska's central distribution centre in Ołtarzew and seven regional warehouses spread across Poland. Together, the eight-site network supports nationwide equipment distribution and the continuing build-out of the operator's telecommunications infrastructure, including its 5G rollout.
At the core of the operation sits a 12,700-square-metre distribution facility in Ołtarzew staffed by roughly 140 people. The site handles a broad telecom product mix — mobile phones, routers, set-top boxes and accessories — serving both B2B and B2C channels.
For CEVA, the CMA CGM subsidiary, the renewal locks in a stable, long-term contract logistics revenue stream in a European market where telecom and high-tech warehousing contracts are fiercely contested. For Orange Polska, the deal preserves an established national distribution backbone at a time when network upgrades, fibre expansion and 5G deployment are driving steady demand for equipment availability close to installation sites.
Beyond storage and transport
The scope goes well beyond warehousing and linehaul. CEVA provides a suite of value-added services for the operator: quality control, device refurbishment, software updates and reverse logistics. The returns loop matters commercially — returned equipment re-enters the same network, is processed on site and can be redeployed rather than routed through a separate recovery chain.
The seven regional warehouses function as forward-stocking points, cutting lead times for the maintenance crews and installation teams that keep Orange's national infrastructure running and expanding.
Automation and digitalisation
CEVA has re-engineered parts of the operation in recent years. Semi-automated processes and buffer systems have been introduced, and an automated conveyor-based line now handles returned equipment, speeding up a task that was previously manual.
The companies have also scaled the logistics operation specifically to support 5G technologies and deployed digital tools to monitor performance and improve end-to-end supply chain visibility — capability that has become table stakes for large telecom shippers measuring provider uptime and accuracy.
"Our long-standing relationship with Orange Polska is a testament to what can be achieved through true collaboration and a shared commitment to excellence," said Jan-Romain Plault, NEE Contract Logistics Director at CEVA Logistics.
Plault said CEVA plans to keep developing the operation over the next five years, targeting further innovation and efficiency gains across Orange Polska's supply chain — signalling that automation investment at Ołtarzew and the regional network will continue rather than plateau now the contract is secured.
